Hannah and Yseult met at an event about race in January 2019 and decided to bring the dialogue to a wider audience by launching their podcast and platform, Kinswomen. Their new book, "Real Friends Talk About Race: Bridging the Gaps Through Uncomfortable Conversations," is an Amazon best-seller.
Yseult Polfliet Mukantabana identifies as a Rwandan, Jewish, and queer woman. She is an author, creative director, and social and art advocate. Mukantabana sits on the Board Committee of POWarts, a non-profit organization meant to support and uplift womxn in the art industry. She is a Ted Speaker and the designer and co-founder of YOAH, a gender-free children's brand created with her brother Noah Polfliet.
Hannah Summerhill is a white, Jewish woman based in California. She’s had a long career in magazines, working in advertising sales at places like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Women’s Health, and as a writer, she’s written for brands like Vogue.com, Elle.com, New York Magazine, and Refinery29. She’s on the board of her city’s equality coalition, and plays guitar in her free time.
