Antonio Driver has been appointed as the first LGBTQIA+ Liaison for Prince George's County, Maryland. This role was created in response to the LGBTQIA+ community's call for a dedicated position within the county government to address their needs and ensure their voices are heard. As the LGBTQIA+ Liaison, Driver's responsibilities include connecting with the LGBTQIA+ community at all levels of government and advocating for their interests.
Before assuming this pivotal role, Antonio Driver was the Founder and Executive Director of Speakout in Washington, D.C., where he was instrumental in promoting the organization's mission through outreach and advocacy. His experience spans across various roles, including working as a Family Support Worker for Catholic Charities in Washington, D.C., a Case Manager for the Village Care Center in New York, NY, and as a Program Manager for an HIV testing program with the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force in Pittsburgh, PA.
Driver's educational background includes an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Ashworth College, Norcross, GA, and he was in the process of earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ, as of his appointment.
Antonio Driver took on his role as LGBTQIA+ Liaison on June 19, 2023, bringing with him seven years of expertise and a wealth of professional relationships aimed at expanding support and resources for the LGBTQIA+ community in Prince George's County.
