Celebrate Women’s History Month by attending a roundtable of notable women of Prince George’s County and surrounding areas. There will be a panel discussion of their achievements in different career fields, followed by a Q & A session.

Panelists will include: 

Ruth Redmond: a self-published author of her memoir “Within the Fire, I Found My Voice: A Memoir”; mother and grandmother.  Ruth is also an highly favorable, inspiring and transparent speaker on life genres. Her unwavering triumphs being a 27year retiree from the DCFD and a 10 year breast cancer survivor 

Ruth’s mantra is B.O.L.D. - be overflowed with life dreams. 


Aimee Olivo, a true believer in the power of the arts to transform lives, is incredibly proud to serve as Art Works Now’s second executive director. She is a passionate community builder and advocate for equity and social justice.

Prior to joining Art Works Now, Aimee served as the Chief of Staff for Prince George’s County Council Member Dannielle Glaros (D-District 3). Aimee is most proud of her work to promote economic development, support non-profit organizations, improve the environment, and promote community in that role. Previously she spent nearly two decades working as a professional fundraiser.

Aimee has held numerous volunteer leadership roles advocating for educational equity and student success. She was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley to serve on the Board of Trustees for Prince George’s Community College in 2010 and continued in that role through February 2022. She served as a member and chair of the Prince George’s County Commission for Education Excellence under County Executive Rushern Baker.

In 2012, Aimee was recognized by the Prince George’s County Social Innovation Fund as a member of their inaugural “Prince George’s 40 Under Forty” cohort. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Trinity College (now Trinity Washington University), in Washington, D.C., with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and earned her Master’s in Business Administration from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. On nice days, Aimee bikes to work from her home in Cheverly.

Rexanah P. Wyse Morrissette, Esq. is the Interim Executive Director of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), a public-private partnership managing the U.S. organ donation and transplantation system. She also teaches at the School of Public Policy, focusing on Science, Technology, Ethics, and Policy, including topics like AI, Race, Gender, and Policy Innovation. A former Maryland prosecutor, Rexanah is committed to uplifting vulnerable populations and has led groundbreaking  addressing key issues such as homelessness, criminal justice, and education law. She has led initiatives like an early intervention program for truancy in Montgomery County and violence reduction in Baltimore. 

Her philanthropic efforts include board positions with CentroNia, CARECEN DC, and HumbleWalk Campus Ministry, as well as involvement with the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services State Advisory Board. Rexanah holds a Juris Doctor with a certificate of Public Service from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a Minor in Human Development from the University of Maryland, College Park. She lives in Maryland with her husband and their toddler daughter.
