This youth-led event features the County’s Youth Poet Laureate and Teen Poet Ambassadors. Enjoy DJ Frank on the 1's and 2's, share your own poem, rap, or song, and watch artist Ben Beauty bring the event to life with a live painting session.

Watch as Ben Beauty transforms the atmosphere of Fresh Voices Open Mic with a dynamic live painting session. Blending sound, spoken word, and color, she will create a one-of-a-kind piece that reflects the rhythm and spirit of the night.

About the Artist:
Ben Beauty, also known as Chris, is an artist whose work embraces a range of styles, from abstract and surrealism to cubism and expressionism. Inspired by the concept of benevolence—kindness and goodness—Chris uses art as a medium to explore complex topics and engage in deep reflection, often pairing her visual work with poetry.

A self-taught artist, Chris’s creative journey began in 2020 during the pandemic, when she rediscovered her passion for drawing and later began experimenting with painting. Overcoming initial hesitation, she developed a unique mixed-media approach that blends texture and color in unexpected ways.

Chris’s art reflects her love for life, music, and human connection. Street art and public events offer her a chance to interact with the community and hear the voices of those around her. Through her work, she aims to inspire positive change, self-awareness, and liberation—encouraging others to explore and reflect on their own journeys. Chris believes that art is more than just creation—it’s a way of touching hearts and minds, and inviting others to join her in the pursuit of goodness and beauty in the world.
