Celebrate the 5th Annual Festival of Cultures with our staff-led program, Akan of the West Coast a Fante language and culture program.

About the Akan of the West Coast Program

This is usually a 6-week program but at the Festival of Cultures you will enjoy a preview of this language and culture learning program.

Journey into the Akan language, where you’ll pick up basic Fante vocabulary and conversation skills. You'll learn to read, write, and pronounce everyday Akan words and phrases. By the end of the program, you’ll feel comfortable responding to basic instructions in Fante and using common expressions in casual conversation.

This year's theme is Stories We Share aims to foster a sense of belonging and community-wide connection.
