PGCMLS Virtual EventsLearn the key skills necessary to achieve employment in the public workforce. In a four-part series, participants will have the opportunity to learn about basic computer and job searching skills, resume writing, interview etiquette, and online resources which are available to assist with the job search.
Registration is required. Sessions can be attended individually.

Discovery and Job Search
Attendees will learn how to:
- Use career exploration tools to guide career decisions
- Develop strategies to make their job search effective and successful
- Create a job search strategy plan
Soft Skills That Sell
Attendees will learn how to:
- Identify core soft skills important to employers
- Learn strategies to improve soft skills
- Learn to highlight soft skills during the job search process
Resumes That Represent
Attendees will learn how to:
- Represent their competence, skills, and experience within a resume
- Apply three basic principles to resume writing: concise writing; clean formatting; and communicating competence
- How to create an impacting marketing tool
Interviews that Impress
Attendees will learn how to:
- Review strategies to optimize your interview preparation.
- Learn the "do and don't" strategies to apply before, during, and after any interview
- Learn to use simple strategies for complex interview questions
- Discuss the importance that connection plays in interviewing
